Woooooah, has 2013 ever been a bitch so far… hahah. Isn’t it amazing how we all make such brilliant New Years Resolutions and we hit January 1st with a gusto that is unmatched.
That was how my year started. I was ready. Amped. Capable. More than willing.
Our first gig as the new ‘beyond the Mountain’ was at Lee’s Palace on Jan. 12. For those of you who weren’t able to come, you missed a milestone. It was such a special moment for the 3 of us, a culmination of hard work and synchronicity that erupted in 45 minutes of the purest form of music: the love of it.
Notes were missed and voices cracked. But amidst all that- spirits soared and a new commitment and excitement was born.
The day after the gig, I came down with the flu. Which ended up not being the flu but something seriously wrong with my gut….blech, even thinking back to it reminds me of how awful it felt. That led to a bunch of tests, a week in the hospital, and a surgery. BUT, I’m back! That’s the most important thing. Thank to the wonderful help of friends and my band family, I’ve bounced back (hopefully to be stronger than ever).
I can’t wait for the new chapter of BTM and what that has to offer us, and YOU.
